Melbourne School of Land and Environment Dookie Campus

Currawa Primary School

Currawa Primary School was established in 1915 and is located on Ridge Road at the top of the main campus area. Currawa provides an excellent educational program and benefits from being located in a shady natural bush settling with all the facilities of a university campus on its door step. A feature of Currawa is its high staff to student ratio which ensures individual attention, that all students are catered for, and their progress closely monitored.

Chook maths? Cow science?

Its all part of a normal school day at Currawa where the integrated curriculum allows children to explore and experience many aspects of learning and agriculture through hands on experiences. As well as a comprehensive integrated program there is a strong commitment to the teaching of skills in literacy and numeracy, using the Early Years teaching approaches in Years Prep - 4. The You Can Do It program helps students to achieve their best. Currawa also offers an innovative music program and students have the opportunity to learn to play a range of instruments and to participate in many public performances. A bank of modern computers ensures that information technology is integrated into all areas of learning.

Free daily bus service

Currawa has its own bus and provides a free, daily service within the local area. The bus also provide flexibility to participate in spontaneous learning experiences and attend regular excursions.
