Welcome to Dookie Campus
Dookie is the major rural higher education campus of the Melbourne School of Land and Environment (MSLE), The University of Melbourne. The University is recognised worldwide for the quality of its research, courses and graduates. Given the international status of agriculture and resource management, our graduates are prepared for the world market.
The education program offered at Dookie Campus is incorporated with the commercial activities of the Dookie Farms to ensure that students receive a unique educational experience that include hands on practical experience including project work with farming enterprise activities and associated resource management issues.
Dookie campus in all its phases has served the community of Victoria for over 120 years and will continue to do so by educating graduates to maintain the competitive status and sustainability of Australian rural industries and our unique landscapes.

The goal of the Campus is to provide high quality courses, research training and research relevant to the needs of the land and food industries of north east Victoria in particular, as well as south-eastern Australia and beyond.
Priorities for the Campus are derived from the Growing Esteem Strategic Plan 2006:
Research
- systems based research with strong links to industry and other research organizations
- postgraduate research training in systems based research in a rural context
Learning & Teaching
- undergraduate programs with a broad discipline base to include science and technology as well as business and economics
- tertiary education in industries relevant to Victoria
Knowledge Transfer
- provision of industry relevant fee for service programs (domestic and international)
- knowledge transfer, community engagement & collaboration
