Student Services

All students on campus are entitled to access the range of student services available at the University of Melbourne. Important services are provided at Dookie Campus to complement services provided at Parkeville Campus. Alumni Asssociations

All Dookie graduates are members of both the Dookie Alumni and Friends Association and the University of Melbourne Association. Dookie Alumni have regular reunions, a magazine and a mentoring network to support recent graduates. The University of Melbourne Alumni Association provides a range of services

Careers and Employment Service

The Careers and Employment Service seeks to maximise careers and further studies outcomes for current students and recent graduates of the University of Melbourne. Most services are web-based.

Dookie Campus has an excellent reputation with employers. Student and graduate employment positions are regularly listed on the employments noticeboards around campus and on the Campus Newsletter.

Health Services

A bulk billing doctor, Dr David Rogers and Health Nurse, Maggie Fanning visit campus every Thursday. Further information is available from Campus reception on (03) 5833 9200.

Student Counsellor

The Student Counsellor is on campus every Monday and Thursday. The counsellor provides strictly confiedential advice and personal counselling on issues ranging from relationship problems, transition to university life, family problems, health an sexuality, career pathways, study and exam questions, financial problems anxiety and stress.

Students can also access the counselling services at Parkville. The Student Counsellor can also provide information about student financial support services provided by the University and Centrelink. These include student loans and bursaries, government student assistance, budgeting, Youth Allowance, Austudy and basic tax help.

Dookie Student Association

The Dookie Student Association (DSA) provides free tea and coffee as well as vending machines in the Student Lounge. There is a licensed bar on campus for student functions which is normally open two nights a week.

There is ample student parking, and for students who don't have a car, senior students will arrange transport to Shepparton. A small fee is charged by the driver to cover the cost of petrol.

Orientation

Dookie Campus runs an orientation program to assist new students adjust to university study and campus life. The program includes academic and social activities and takes place immediately before Semester 1. All new students are encouraged to attend.

Sporting facilities

Recreational facilities include football oval, fully equipped gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court, squash court, cricket nets, armoury and shooting range, working dog club facilities and recreational horse facilities including agistment, stables, tack room, and horse eventing equipment.

Staff and Student Petrol Station

The Staff Store is run by the Dookie College Club which sells petrol to staff and students at very competitive rates. The petrol station is open Monday to Friday.
